Deutsch: Ein junger Komponist dirigiert ein Konzert mit einer Partitur für Kanonenfeuer. Karikatur von Anton Elfinger (‚Cajetan‘) als Beilage zur Wiener Theaterzeitung von Adolf Bäuerle. Die Karikatur benutzt eine Vorlage von Grandville aus Louis Reybauds Roman Jérome Paturot à la recherche d'une position sociale (Paris, 1846); die Berlioz karikiert.
English: A young composer conducting a concert with a score for gunfire. Caricature by Anton Elfinger (‚Cajetan‘) as supplement of Wiener Theaterzeitung of Adolf Bäuerle. The caricature uses a work of Grandville from Louis Reybaud's novel Jérome Paturot à la recherche d'une position sociale (Paris, 1846); this character of the novel pretends to portray Berlioz (see for instance: Jacques Barzun. Berlioz and his century: an introduction to the age of romanticism - University of Chicago Press, 1982. - P. 202.. Original caption was Heureusement la salle est solide... elle résiste! (Fortunately the hall is solid... it can stand the strain!)
