NGC 185

NGC 185 — карлікавая эліптычная галактыка ў сузор’і Касіяпея, знаходзіцца на адлегласці больш 2 мільёнаў светлавых гадоў[1]. NGC 185, як і NGC 147, з'яўляецца членам Мясцовай групы і спадарожнікам Туманнасці Андрамеды (M31). Адкрыта 30 лістапада 1787 года англійскім астраномам Уільямам Гершэлем.

У адрозненне ад большасці карлікавых эліптычных галактык, NGC 185 утрымвае маладыя зорныя скопішчы. Мяркуецца, што працэс фармавання зорак стаў малаактыўным у нядаўнім мінулым. NGC 185 мае актыўнае галактычнае ядро, і класіфікуецца як сейфертаўская галактыка II тыпа[2]. У галактыцы была знойдзена рэштка звышновай[3].
