A Fairey Barracuda of 830 Squadron, Fleet Air Arm taking off from HMS FURIOUS with a 1600 lb bomb showing beneath it, to attack shipping and installations off Norway. In his book Carrier Operations in World War II (page 25) David Brown identified this photo as depicting an aircraft taking off at the start of the Operation Mascot strike against the German Battleship Tirpitz on 17 July 1944
